The signing of deeds for Yayasan Kechara Indonesia was completed on 15 June 2012 in the presence of a Notary Public in Jakarta. This marks the formalization of the good work that friends of Kechara in Jakarta have been doing in their personal capacity over the last few years.

As with Kechara Soup Kitchen Malaysia that started out in 2006 as an initiative of a few friends roaming the streets of Kuala Lumpur before its formalization in May 2008, a few friends in Jakarta also did the same. As their work grew over time, the need for a more structured growth led to the formation of this foundation.

After almost a year of study and ground work, this memorable day was chosen to formalize Yayasan Kechara Indonesia (YKI).
