Just like the past 3 years before, Kechara House once again is the host for one of the largest Buddhist puja events of the year. For the year 2012, Kechara House celebrated the Grand Festival of Wealth and Protection (Previously known as Grand Setrap and Dzambala Puja) from 6 – 8 January 2012. This year, in order to reach out to more people from different parts of Kuala Lumpur, Kechara held their Grand Festival in Chin Woo Stadium.
The first day of the event was graced by Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, other honorary guests and members of the public. It was a joyous celebration, accompanied by a spectacular lion dance performance from the Ti-Ratana society and also the first appearance of Kechara’s very own Pastors in public.
Like any other event held by Kechara, all of Kechara’s 13 departments filled the floor of the stadium, with the sole motivation of bringing the Dharma to the public through the various means conceptualized by our spiritual guide, H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche.
There was a little of something for everyone of all ages in GFWP. Children especially love the arts and craft section organized by Kechara Saraswati Arts (KSA), shopaholics flooded the flea market section, and those feeling extra spiritual on the day made offerings to the Buddhas, and invited home Dharma books and Buddha statues.
It was an event jam-packed with FUN! Various performances were held on stage to entertain our valued guests. Kechara’s choir group performed various tracks selected from Kechara inMotion’s latest album release, titled Highway to Bliss, and also piano and vocal performances arranged by a dedicated Kecharian, David Loh. Let’s not forget about the lucky draw contest, where several prizes were given away to the lucky winners.
Kechara’s GFWP for the year 2012 was a success. At the end of the event, Kechara has successfully planted the seeds of Dharma in 1076 members of the public!
