In writing about the upcoming 24 Hour Lamrim Recitation, the New Straits Times quoted Kechara House President Datuk May Phng as saying “the main objective of the event is to accomplish 8,000 recitations of the Lamrim in order to purify the mind, to remove obstacles as well as to promote peace and harmony not just for the centre, but for the region.”
The report also highlighted the Lamrim as a scripture written by foremost Indian Buddhist scholar, Atisha during the 1st Century. It also quoted Kechara House Lamrim Recitation organising committee head, Ng Kok Heng encouraging families, friends and neighbours to come together for the good cause.
