Making Merits, Creating A Connection

Creating merits is an integral part of our Dharma practice for without merits, we will lack the conducive conditions to practise the Dharma. There are many methods of making merits, for example participating in pujas and donating to the sangha but here at Kechara, we like to do things a little differently!

Fortunately for us, His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche has conceptualised many places where we can make offerings to generate merits for our practice. Rinpoche believes that within every moment is an opportunity to practise generosity and giving, to create a connection with the Three Jewels.

Find yourself in a Kechara Paradise outlet? Offer some pearls to Rinpoche’s personal statues, one of which can be found in each of the five outlets.

In Kechara House 2′s Setrap Chapel, looking for a bit of divine guidance and help? Add a handful of cubic zirconia or pearls to the sea of jewels which surrounds him.

Want to create a connection with the Dharma? Offer a khata at Rinpoche’s throne in his audience room at Kechara House 1 or at his private office, Tsem Ladrang. The act of making a khata or pearl offering creates a connection to Rinpoche and is considered highly auspicious in the Tibetan tradition. The offerings create the merit for you to meet a teacher and receive Dharma teachings in the future, whether from Rinpoche himself or not.

So the next time you have an opportunity to make offerings, why not take it? Rinpoche and Kechara make it very easy!
