On September 4, 2019, our beloved guru His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche concluded his earthly activities and entered into clear light. Thousands of his disciples around the world mourned the loss of a very special being — a great teacher, a precious spiritual friend, a spiritual father figure… as Rinpoche was all this and more to every one of us.

For many of us, Rinpoche’s absence has created a huge void in our hearts and the thought of never seeing him again brings tears to our eyes. At the same time, we have great hope of meeting his next incarnation, who is prophesied to be a strong, intelligent young boy who is kind, generous and affectionate as well as playful, mischievous and alert.

To create the merits that we all need to meet Rinpoche’s incarnation again, we completed the Tsem Rinpoche Indoor Relic Stupa in September 2020, one year after Rinpoche’s parinirvana. This stupa is very special because it enshrines Rinpoche’s precious white relic pills, which miraculously emerged after the traditional funerary rites. These rare holy relics are a sign of Rinpoche’s great spiritual attainments and are a powerful blessing for us all.

Apart from creating the causes to draw Rinpoche’s unmistaken incarnation back to us, the Stupa is also a symbol that his subtle mind remains unchanging and ever-present in our lives.

And until the day that the 26th Tsem Rinpoche returns to continue his enlightened activities, let’s keep the memories of our precious teacher alive in our minds through our practices, devotion, spiritual commitments and transformation. There’s nothing else Rinpoche would have wanted more.
