Literally translated as “400 offerings”, Gyabshi calls upon the blessings and protection of Yamantaka, Setrap, Dorje Shugden and Buddha Shakyamuni. During the puja, interfering spirits and obstacle-makers are invited to enjoy the offerings and to receive blessings and teachings from Buddha. Towards the end of the ritual, the lu tormas are escorted out of the building, symbolising that the obstacles follow the offerings, thus freeing sponsors of further disturbances.
