See how their dedication has brought the publishing house this far, and find out how you can help KMP take their teachings to a bigger and wider audience.

We always welcome people to join us as we continue to grow and produce more publications and bring Dharma teachings out to the public. We are looking for people to help with transcribing, translation, writing, typing, editing or graphic design. If you are interested in joining us or in contributing in any way towards the production of books, DVDs and online teachings, please contact us, no matter where you are in the world. Phng Li Kim

Chief Executive Officer

Li Kim brings to Kechara Media & Publications extensive entrepreneurial and team building skills. Upon graduation from Pepperdine University, California, Li Kim returned to Malaysia to take the role of Director of Operations and Administration in the family business of latex examination and surgical gloves manufacturing. Shortly after, Li Kim started another factory producing Dental prostatic and orthodontic plates while still running her family business. By then, she was managing close to 800 foreign and local personnel on a daily basis.

Because of Li Kim’s passion in working with people, she embarked on a new career path in network marketing and in four years, she successfully built a network of more than 5000 people. Due to her unending quest to learn, she got involved in another business of her own in digital signage solutions.

Today, Li Kim leads KMP’s direction and is responsible for its day-to-day operations, strategic business planning, project management, human resource and finance. She is committed to do all it takes to take KMP global to spread the Dharma teachings and works of H. E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche to everyone everywhere.

As a Liaison and member of Kechara’s Board of Directors, Li Kim believes that there is more to life than success stories, materialistic gains and shallow relationships. She has in a short period gained deep insights in spirituality through listening and sharing with the followers of H.E Tsem Tulku Rinpoche and her personal experience of H.E.’s teaching. Very simply she sees that Dharma practice enhances what you have and more importantly, who you are to be a better person to benefit others in many ways. As a mother of three sons, Li Kim is dedicated to Dharma work to lead a spiritually fulfilling life, and more deeply to return the kindness and love to her parents by serving them through Dharma.


Jamie Khoo

Jamie Khoo

Having graduated with an MA in English Literature from University of York, Jamie came back to Malaysia to work as a journalist with The Star newspaper and freelance writer for several magazines and publications around Malaysia.

Liaison Jamie now dedicates her life to working extensively with the editorial and communications teams to bring Rinpoche’s teachings and Dharma to the world in diverse media. She recently completed and released her autobiography, Call Me Paris, to rave reviews.


Kok Yek Yee

Kok Yek Yee

With a diploma in journalism and a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology, Liaison Kok Yek Yee started her career as a journalist, writing for Guang Ming Daily as a journalist and Nanyang Siang Pau, an established national newspaper, as a features writer.

She won an award for The Best Health Related Article in the Magazine Category, which was awarded by the Malaysian government in 2007, and has continued to write for major dailies and popular magazines such as Feminine and Buddha. She published her first book, Protector Setrap, in 2007.


Sharon Saw

Editor & Writer

Sharon Saw

With a Masters from Cambridge University and several years working experience in London, Sharon returned from the UK after 17 years and worked in the communications team of the National Economic Action Council, under the Prime Minister’s department during the Asian Financial Crisis in 1998.

She has been writing for magazines and newspapers and is a scriptwriter for independent movies and TV productions.

Extremely passionate about Dharma and books, she finds complete fulfilment in her work at KMP.


Dr Lanse Chiah Shiau Ching

Dr Lanse Chiah Shiau Ching

After graduating with MBBS in 1999 from Jinan University, Guangzhou, China, Lanse was a part-time lecturer at a local college of traditional Chinese medicine.

She joined KMP in February 2009 on a part-time basis to do Chinese translations, transcriptions, and work on the Chinese-language version of the Kechara newsletter, No More Caves. Lanse has since committed as a full-time editor and writer in the Chinese-language division of KMP.


David Lai

Writer

David LaiDavid graduated with a Bachelor of Computing from Monash University, Australia. Upon returning to Malaysia, he worked in sales and marketing with various companies like Canon and Volvo before joining Kechara Media and Publications’ marketing team to bring Rinpoche’s books and DVDs to world.

As an Apprentice Liaison, David has since authored two books with KMP – There’s No Way But Up and Vajrayogini and Other Sacred Power Places in Nepal.


Susan Lim

e-Communications Manager

Susan Lim, e-Communications ManagerArmed with a Masters in Instructional Design from the University of Alabama (USA), Susan Lim worked at various companies, including a dotcom and a consulting company and the US Coastguard base while in the US. On her return to Malaysia, she enjoyed a corporate career at Intel Malaysia.

She is responsible for KMP’s and Kechara eShop’s operations, business development, worldwide customer relations as well developing the ecommerce site to be educational.

Susan is also an Associate Liaision to H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche. Above all, she treasures the opportunity to learn Dharma and apply it on a daily basis.


Fang Chyi

Art Director

Freelance Art Director by day, performer by night. Fang Chyi was a core member of LiTPerformers (Malaysia’s premier all-woman A Cappella outfit) and has been performing professionally since 1998. She has performed with The PLC Vocal Ensemble in New England, Australia; soloist for The New England T.A.S. production of Jesus Christ Superstar, competed and came in 2nd in the N.S.W. Eisteddfod Jazz Vocal (Open) Category and initiated performance art in the Newcastle University ‘Cultural Awakenings’ project. Having been exposed to different music genres from a very young age, Jazz remains her first love.

Upon returning home in 1995; Fang has played program seller, usher, multimedia/lighting crew, stage manager and performer. Her last ‘real job’ was as a senior art director in an ad agency. Having art directed more than half a dozen commercials, a short film and a music video; this Newcastle University Graphics graduate pledges her passion to the performing arts.

Fang Chyi has worked in many world class productions such as Hang Li Poh, Leslie… the Legend, Ophelia: A Fashion Opera, Tunku: The Musical [KLPac], Ismail, His Final Days and numerous LiT Performers projects.

January 2007 marked Fang Chyi’s directorial and set designing debut with OKIKU: A Tragedy Untold. That year she received her first nomination in the ‘Best Solo Performance (Vocal)’ category, for the 2006 Cameronian Awards. In May 2008, Fang Chyi was nominated for ‘Best Set Design’ for her work in OKIKU: A Tragedy Untold and she is currently one of the members of the Kakiseni Cameronian Arts Award judges.

Fang has been exposed to Buddhism at a very young age and has been looking for a group which makes the teachings available in English. During the last two years, Fang started soul searching. Though she was successful in her career, she found something was still missing. During a tv shoot, she bumped into Kechara Paradise in One Utama shopping centre and found out she had friends in Kechara. She started to spend time with Sharon and Susan and asked many questions. She joined Manjushri class and began freelancing work for KMP.  Not long after, she was offered a position as KMP’s Art Director and readily accepted!


Deborah Pereira

Deborah Pereira

With a degree in Business and a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, Deborah has vast experience in banking, marketing and currently, the publishing industry. A mother of two young children, Deborah has spent over seven years in the production and administrative aspects of publishing.

As Production Manager of Kechara Media & Publications Sdn Bhd, Deborah is fortunate and eager to help bring forth KMP’s publications to its full potential, as she strongly feels the benefits of dharma will benefit many, regardless, of race, religion or creed.


Judy Lam

Administrator

Judy Lam

Judy was trained as a secretary and throughout her career, was fortunate to have served top management from different industries, where she managed to refine her skills and acquire management techniques. Having worked in the corporate world for more than 15 years, her career progression took her from being a Secretary to a Manager for the administration department.

Judy is responsible for planning, coordinating and providing a variety of administrative functions to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day operations.


June Kang

Human Resources, Accounts Assistant

June Kang

After graduating from one of Malaysia’s top universities, June Kang clocked up working experience in various fields ranging from administration to human resources, sales and marketing to merchandising to staff training. She currently works in life insurance and runs her own training company. June is a volunteer with Kechara Media & Publications (KMP) where she makes use of her industry experience to help with human resource, as well as some accounting jobs.
