Authentic Lineage

Kechara House Pastors receive their empowerment from H.E. Tsem Rinpoche who comes from an unbroken lineage of Tibetan Buddhist masters, tracing all the way back to Buddha Shakyamuni.

H.E. Tsem Rinpoche was recognized as an incarnate High Lama when he was very young and was ordained by the Spiritual Head of Tibetan Buddhism in 1987. Read here to learn more about H.E. Tsem Rinpoche’s inspiring and colourful life story.

Besides holding their vows, one has to undergo 3 levels of training to advance to become a Kechara Pastor:

Level 1: Dharma Guest Speaker

  • Trainees to give talks on their experiences/prepare presentations at Dharma class on specific Dharma subjects they are familiar with.
  • Minimum training period: 3 months

Level 2: Dharma Teacher

  • Trainees must attend a full Lamrim Course for at least a year and to sit for exams and obtain a minimum pass rate.
  • Conduct sessions in Simplified Lamrim classes or study groups.
  • Be familiar with the Kechara Organisation, Rinpoche’s autobiography, the Gelugpa lineage.
  • Be involved in education-related activities and Kechara House pujas.
  • Minimum training period: 12 months

Students who are serious in their practice and aspire to become Kechara Pastors must complete the above 3 levels of training successfully, after which their names will be submitted to H.E. Tsem Rinpoche for consideration to be ordained as Kechara Pastors.
