Happy to Bless

It is a usual sight to see people approaching the pastors once they get to know of their role in the Dharma and Kechara. Many people appeal to the pastors to seek assistance with their problems at hand, and most of them are in distress.

Fortunately, there are also some light-hearted moments in the pastors’ daily affairs, and one such example is Pastor Chia’s fondness for home blessing rituals – a special blessing requested by members and friends of Kechara when inviting a Buddha statue home to set up an altar.

From time to time, Pastor Chia looks forward to assisting in setting up altars at home. As he recounts his experiences in performing these rituals, Pastor Chia relayed how it touches his heart to see unity among friends and families who attend the blessings. It is a great opportunity for members and friends to know and support each other in their spiritual paths.

Pastor Chia has always preached that there is more to Dharma than just Buddha statues. A greater blessing than inviting a Buddha statue home is to invite the Buddha into our hearts. Giving moral support to our Dharma family, building a Dharma community and being there for others with sincere motivation are also important practices in Buddhism.

Pastor Chia would also like to point out to the new and upcoming Pastors to take care of the Dharma community and to encourage everyone to support one another in both life and spiritual practice. Even though his responsibilities are heavy, home blessings never fail to put a smile on Pastor Chia’s face.
