Simon & Suzan: Wedding Blessings & Lunch Reception!

23 December 2009 - 8:20pm No Comments

On 19th December 2009, under the auspices of His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche, our beloved Suzan Ng held her wedding ceremony at Kechara House 1.

Volunteers stayed up the previous night, working hard to prepare Kechara House 1 for the ceremony so that Suzan and her fiance (now husband!) Simon could receive Rinpoche’s blessings in a splendid wedding-themed gompa.

As Suzan and Simon sat in front of the throne surrounded by their loved ones, Rinpoche gave a short talk on weddings and relationships, speaking about how he first met Suzan and her family, before elaborating on the wedding vows to be recited.

Then facing one another, Suzan and Simon held hands as they recited their wedding vows. Promising to remain loyal to the other, to support each other and to improve on their weak points for one another, they slipped their wedding bands on each others’ hands…there wasn’t a dry eye in the audience!

After the guests recited Shantideva’s dedication prayer, Rinpoche departed and there was a quick photo session before everyone adjourned to Kechara House 2 for a vegetarian reception lunch catered by Kechara Oasis.

Guests were pleasantly surprised at how much the already-beautiful Buddha Oasis had been transformed. Pink-themed and filled with flowers and candles, guests sat down to a delicious buffet lunch. In the relaxed setting decorated the previous night by Bill Keith and his volunteers, conversation flowed easily as guests gathered to celebrate Suzan and Simon’s big day!

Congratulations to our dear Suzan and her husband Simon!

May your wedded life be full of bliss, joy and laughter!
