This was definitely a pleasurable and happy afternoon with His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche in Kechara! From Malaysia’s leading English papers to the established Chinese press, 19 media publications were in the Kechara prayer hall (Gompa) for a press conference with Rinpoche last week.
Rinpoche spoke about Kechara’s upcoming event on 24th October in Kechara House – Kechara’s 2nd Pastorship Ordination in conjunction with Rinpoche’s birthday. The coming pastorship ordination would be a public event open to all as Kechara introduces its new pastors.
Throughout the press conference and interview, Rinpoche introduced the press to Kechara and its efforts in spreading spirituality and Dharma. Rinpoche took the opportunity to highlight Kechara’s latest endeavor in establishing a retreat center – Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR) in Bentong, Pahang. A total of 600kg of rice was also given to the Padmasambhava Children Loving Association in Klang during the event.
Members of media not only had a better understanding of Rinpoche and Kechara, but they were also given Kechara’s books, Buddha statues and malas as tokens of appreciation.
After the press conference, members of Kechara and the press mingled around Kechara Lounge over dinner. It had been an engaging evening with the media. Look out for Kechara in the news!
Members of the media that attended are WAH travel, Sin Chew, China Press, Red Tomato, Ming Sang Pao, Health Magazine, Nanyang Siang Pau, The Charm, Big Orange, Special Weekly, New Straits Times and Oriental Daily.
