For the benefit of students who will be taking their examinations soon, Kechara recently organized a Manjushri Examination Puja to invoke the blessings of the Buddha of Wisdom.
The prayer hall (Gompa) was filled with chatters and vibrant enthusiasm of the youths on a Sunday afternoon. Pastor Susan gave a brief explanation of the benefits of puja and Manjushri’s blessings before commencing the puja. Led by all of Kechara’s pastors, Pastor Susan, Pastor Yek Yee and Pastor Chia and a dedicated puja team from our Shabten Khang, participants chant to Manjushri’s Holy Scripture and mantras.
Manjushri, the Buddha of Wisdom, is the ideal Buddha to assist all who wish to have clarity of mind as well as intelligence. Therefore, Manjushri is especially beneficial to students who are about to face their examinations. As the young participants recited the text, an atmosphere of calm and peace filled the Gompa. Their parents too were seen reciting diligently (some even more enthusiastically!). This shows how concerned the parents are for their children’s preparation for the examinations.
The blessings and merits gained are not only limited to the students. To rephrase Pastor Susan,
Manjushri as the Buddha of wisdom is suitable for students seeking blessings, but aren’t we all students too? Isn’t life itself the biggest lesson for us?
Participants, old and young, were most certainly blessed by Manjushri’s sword of wisdom that afternoon.
The puja went on for over an hour and the atmosphere was serene. Students were seen wishing each other the best of luck at the end of the puja.
May the students score well in their examinations with the blessings of Manjushri!

Buddha of Wisdom, Manjushri can help to strengthen your memory and clarity of mind

We love Manjushri!
