Wesak Day is the day which Buddha Shakyamuni took rebirth, gained enlightenment and passed into paranirvana. To commemorate these 3 significant events in Buddhist history, Kechara is celebrating this auspicious day with 3 events filled with blessings! Mark this down on your calendar! It’s on 5 May 2012, this Saturday!
Schedule of Events:
8.30am – Animal Liberation @ Kepong Metropolitan Park
Protecting or saving lives on this auspicious day helps us gain vast amount of merits. We will be releasing birds and fish purchased from pet stores and wholesalers at Kepong Metropolitan Park. Families can also have a nice walk around the beautiful park after the event. Animal liberation is one of our monthly activities, read here to learn more about the animal liberation.
2pm – Baby Blessing Ceremony (Children Baptismal) @ Kechara Gompa
The Children Baptismal will be conducted by Kechara Pastors, with the blessings of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. The ceremony invokes the blessings of Lama Tsongkhapa to protect our children and prevent them from negative interferences. Click here to find out more about the benefits of Children Baptismal.
7pm – Lama Chopa Prayer @ Kechara Gompa
Lama Chopa is an offering to the entire lineage tree of all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Gurus and enlightened Beings, and the merits gained from doing the prayer on Wesak Day is especially great. Click here to learn more about this powerful practice. It is also very auspicious to make offerings of Body, Speech and Mind to the Buddhas or Lama on Wesak Day.
