If you leave the hall while the initiation is in progress\, it means that you did not receive the initiation.\n\nSupplementary Information\n\nIn the practice of the wrathful Vajrapani-Hayagriva-Garuda deity\, Vajrapani is visualised as the central figure\, Hayagriva appears as a green horse head protruding from Vajrapani’s head\, and a white Garuda flies above.\nVajrapani is an emanation of one of the eight great Bodhisattva disciples of Buddha Shakyamuni. Appearing in wrathful form\, he holds a five-spoked vajra in his right hand representing power and healing. His left hand is in the threatening mudra\, which represents his ability to avert harm caused by our karma and delusions. He shows us this mudra to warn us to stop engaging in negative actions and behaviour.\nHayagriva is a wrathful manifestation of Chenrezig\, otherwise known as Avalokiteshvara\, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. He is represented by a single green horse head that protrudes from the top of Vajrapani’s head. It is said that the piercing scream of Hayagriva’s horse terrifies negative beings and averts obstacles. The colour green represents the enlightened activity of the Buddhas.\nThe wrathful King Garuda represents the wisdom of the Buddhas. He appears as a beautiful white eagle-like deity with “blades for wings”. Garudas are the traditional adversaries of nagas. It is believed that nagas can act as the cause of a number of diseases and King Garuda helps to overcome these.\nThe lineage stems from Lhodrag Drubchen Lekyi Dorje (1326 – 1401) who was an emanation of Vajrapani and one of Lama Tsongkhapa’s teachers.
