A frightfully fun night: Halloween at Kechara

Last Friday saw a Halloween fright fest at Kechara Care Lounge as cackling witches, blood-sucking vampires and not-so-usual “beings” emerged from the darkness to party from sundown to sunrise. In the haunted mansion of fun were hanging skulls, broken legs and cobwebs all round…and plenty of jack o’ lantern pumpkins! Cheered on by a spooky soundtrack, ghouls and goblins (ahem, our members and friends!) downed special drinks and food, and partied next to Sean the Dracula, Gim Lee the Dalmatian, Jace the ghostly World War Two corpse widow and the half angel-half devil Wee Liang.

The short and sweet magic saw had our crowd on their toes watching the magician cut his fingers and swallow blades, dripping blood everywhere! The kids were amazed at his tricks and screamed for more, but the night had swiftly moved on to a screening of the horror flick Drag Me to Hell. The film only added to the chilling sense of anticipation as a prize for the best costume was presented. Won by Samantha Chan in her glittery cape and spider headgear, she will now have all the music she can dance to on her new iPod Shuffle.

Missed this night of terrifying fun? Fear not! It may be the last time this year you see our scary friends, but it will definitely not be your last chance this year to party in Kechara Care Lounge…
