Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) scored another goal when Andrei Kanchelskis, the legendary footballer, was introduced to KSK via Bob Teasdale. Of Lithuanian and Ukrainian origin, Andrei Kanchelskis is most admired for his performances representing the best of British football. He played for many teams in the 90s, and is known most famously for propelling Manchester United into winning the English Premier League in ’93-’94.

As a token of appreciation, KSK gifted Andrei with a copy of ‘If not now, when?’, a coffee table book of inspirational quotes which was the book of the month for April at Times Pavilion. Andrei looked through the book, reading the quotes thoughtfully and said he liked them very much.

While Andrei is held with reverence by football fans the world over for his prowess on the field, for Kechara Soup Kitchen, he embodies what true star quality is – the willingness to go one extra step to help others. Thanks, Andrei!

  1. When people are down and out, and living on the streets. they need more than food. the homeless need a chance to get back on their feet and be independent and have their own self esteem. The sick needs medical care, medications and sometimes hospitalised. Peope like Jit who has been living out on the streets for 3 years and who has relatives needs to be reunited with her family. KSK has done just thatand helped to get another homeless off the street to be reunited with her family. So KSK does not just feed the homeless but also provide abovementioned serviices with the main aim to get them off the streets and help them to get back into the mainstream of society. Syabas to KSK for a great job well done. Of coursee with the help of the Star Media.
