Kechara Forest Retreat was recently featured in both China Press and Sin Chew Daily. Following a visit by Bentong parliamentary seat candidate, Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and MCA Bentong Division Chairman, Datuk Hoh Khai Mun to the Kechara Forest Retreat, both newspapers featured articles describing the visit and the vision of Kechara Forest Retreat.

China Press described the on-going project as a raging fire, which once completed will become Malaysia’s biggest Dharma Meditation Centre, while Sin Chew Daily described the Kechara Forest Retreat as a huge project that will promote various healing methods for the body and mind, open to the public to come to relax and meditate.

Sin Chew Daily reported Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai as describing Kechara Forest Retreat as Bentong’s next landmark for Buddhist practice and a global tourist attraction, promoting harmony and striking a material-spiritual balance. He has aided the local area surrounding Kechara Forest Retreat by securing RM260,000 to improve public drainage systems protecting lower areas from floods and, as China Press has reported, he has promised to try his best to apply for funds from the government to assist with the basic infrastructure of roads and drainage systems in the surrounding areas.

As explained in Sin Chew Daily, accompanied by Dato’ Ruby (President of Kechara Soup Kitchen), Paul Yap (Kechara House) and Pastor Yek Yee, the esteemed guests and press were given a tour and informed of the plans for the rest of the 35 acre retreat centre and the services it will provide once completed, such as Qigong, acupuncture, sitting and walking meditation, vegetarianism and candle and incense making. These services and activities are, as relayed by Datuk Hoh Khai Mun in Sin Chew Daily, a way to guide and inspire younger generations to find purpose in their lives.

We thank Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lau and Datuk Hoh Khai Mun for their continued support; and China Press and Sin Chew Daily for sharing our vision with their readers. For more information on the Kechara Forest Retreat, please visit
