Christmas Lama Tsongkhapa Retreat

What is a retreat? A retreat is time taken away from our ordinary, daily, mundane activities set aside specifically to focus on deeper meditation, deeper meditational practices to gain some benefits. So therefore a retreat is when we take time away from our normal everyday activities and set aside time to do the practices.

~ H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche

This Christmas Day 2015, while many spent time with their loved ones, some Kecharians spent it in a retreat! A group of 30 people comprised of Kechara’s staff and volunteers completed a three-day Lama Tsongkhapa Retreat in Kechara Forest Retreat.

The first group of 10 staff and volunteers completed 116,000 Migtsema mantras and mandala offerings. After the retreat, they cleaned the Four-arm Manjushri statue and the Gyenze chapel.

Another group of 20 volunteers of Kechara’s Sunday Dharma School completed 245,520 Migtsema mantras, 2000 prostrations to Lama Tsongkhapa and 640 candle offerings.

Thank you Rinpoche and all hardworking Kecharians and workers that have provided us a chance to do wonderful retreats in a beautiful environment.

We would like to dedicate this retreat for Rinpoche’s long life, for KFR construction works to go swiftly and for all Rinpoche’s wishes to be fulfilled. We would also like to dedicate to Uncle Yuen’s good rebirth. May he always meet qualified gurus and practice the Dharma. Thank you Rinpoche for giving us such a nice and comfortable place for retreat in KFR.
