In Kechara Soup Kitchen, volunteers come from all walks of life and diverse backgrounds, including people with special needs. Seeing them in action and enjoying their time volunteering under Ms. Mag’s supervision warms our hearts, as they show us that no matter who you are or what you do, you can make a difference.

A Baby’s Visit to the Doctor

With the kind assistance of volunteers, a mother and her baby were able to visit the doctor as the baby had been born with a cleft lip and deformed fingers and toes. From here on after, this case requires subsequent follow-ups. A special shout-out to our devoted volunteers, Mickey Wee and Michelle Ho, for taking leave from work to help out.

A Case of Lost Identity

Our dedicated team stumbled across this lady (seen in the photo below) on a Saturday night. Upon chatting, we discovered that she was clueless as to her identity and couldn’t remember her age. We will spend more time with her to build rapport and trust, in hopes that she will open up to us and allow us to help her.
