Kechara Pastors assist H.E. Tsem Rinpoche by nurturing fellow practitioners along their spiritual path through sharing the Dharma with them, helping them with their practice and inspiring them with their good example. They also prepare fellow practitioners to receive higher teachings and initiations in the future.

In that way, Kechara Pastors connect the public with the Sangha, a natural development in the extension of care towards a growing Dharma audience.

The duties of a Kechara Pastor include conducting Dharma classes (Lamrim Class), marriage ceremonies, baby blessings, house blessings, bereavement rituals, providing counseling and giving refuge vows and lay precepts as well as answering questions online.

A pastor is required to hold the 8 Mahayana Precepts for Life, and to serve others with sincerity and without any selfish motivation. Taking and holding vows protects one and keeps one on the path, if one’s motivation is to progress in practice and gain attainments.

A pastor is also expected to maintain good conduct and ethical behavior, and to wear his/her Pastor’s uniform with integrity and strong sense of servitude.
