Wesak Day is the celebration of the birth, life, enlightenment and parinirvana of Lord Buddha, celebrated by Buddhists all over the world. This year, Kechara will celebrate Wesak over three days, 24th May (Friday) – 26th May (Sunday) 2013.

Wesak Day Prayers

Date: Friday 24 May 2013
Time: 6.30pm – 9.30pm
Venue: Kechara House
Activities: Candle Offering, Lama Chopa Prayers

Wesak Fair

Date: Saturday 25 May 2013
Time: 2.00pm -9.00pm
Venue: Kechara House
Coupon Booklet: RM20.00
Activities: Event highlights include hot food, grocery and household item stalls. The Gompa will also be open throughout the event for the public to make offerings.

Children’s Baptismal

Date: Sunday 26 May 2013
Time: 2pm – 4.30pm
Venue: Kechara House
Fee: RM100 per child (1st time), RM20 per child (renewal)
Activities: Conducted by Kechara’s Pastors, the ceremony illustrates the love of a parent for their child by granting them the blessings and protection bestowed by the Three Jewels. The ceremony is open to all below the age of 16, accompanied by a parent or guardian. There is a registration fee of RM100 for new attendees and RM20 for those renewing. Registration closes on the 17th of May.
