DESCRIPTION:The practice of offering tsog is done on every 10th and 25th day of the Tibetan lunar calendar. It is one of the core commitments for practitioners engaging in highest yoga tantra to generate tremendous merits\, and restore and reaffirm their vows and pledges. In Kechara\, the practice of tsog is based on the Lama Chopa — a powerful prayer which incorporates all the essential teachings of Buddha. It includes extensive offerings to the entire merit-field (Buddhas\, Bodhisattvas\, lineage lamas\, etc.)\, thus accumulating a tremendous amount of positive spiritual energy to progress along the spiritual path\, especially tantra. It is based on sacred oral teachings that originated from the special transmissions Manjushri gave to Lama Tsongkhapa. It not only includes offerings to the Three Jewels\, but to beings of the lower realms. This helps to generate compassion in the minds of participants and directly benefits sentient beings who are suffering too.
