LETTER OF APPEAL

I am writing to invite you to participate in an exciting and worthwhile event which will benefit many in our country.

Kechara House Buddhist Association of Malaysia is organising a Dinner and Auction on 18 July 2010 at Sunway Resort Hotel, Petaling Jaya, to raise funds in aid of two community causes: Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) and the renovation of Kechara House (KH) gompa. We would like to invite you to sponsor items for auction at this event with a retail value of at least RM300, which would be ideal as part of your corporate social responsibility program. All our sponsors will be given honorable mention in our press collateral for this event.

KSK is a registered NGO whose volunteers go out every weekend since 2006, come rain or shine, bringing over 800 packets of vegetarian and halal hot food as well as dry food to hungry men, women and children on the streets, regardless of race, culture or creed. KH is a non-profit entity, providing a place for anyone to rest, meditate, learn about philosophy and take part in holistic activities to stimulate the body, speech and mind.

These two causes change people’s lives by benefiting the underprivileged in our society as well as those seeking solace from the stresses of modern life. Together, we can give people peace of mind and harmony in their hearts.

OPPORTUNITIES TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE TOGETHER
We are also appealing for a main sponsor for this Dinner and Auction at a minimum donation of RM300,000. As a token of appreciation, we will provide 3 VIP tables for the main sponsor’s guests, and feature your corporate
logo on our website, the backdrop and on the dinner menu. As the main sponsor, your company will be mentioned in all our collateral and press releases. We are also seeking co-sponsors at RM100,000 each. As a token of appreciation, we will provide 1 VIP table for your guests, and feature your corporate logo on our website, the backdrop and on the dinner menu.

Highlights of the dinner will be:

• Celebrity MCs – Owen Yap and Jiang Pei Pei
• Entertaining performances
• An auction of ten stunning items. The main feature is a set of beautifully carved gold painted 3’ high antique wooden sculptures of the 18 arhats, donated by fashion couturier Melvin Lam. Estimated value is RM380,000. These statues will be placed in KWPC with the names of the sponsors and the donors engraved on plaques.

Tables for the dinner are available for minimum donations of RM1,600, RM2,500 and RM5,000.
