Andy reminisces

The last time I had class with Thierry was 2 weeks ago, and it was my first time attending his Dharma class. His teaching was very clear and concise, and I enjoyed listening to his teachings very much. I can see that the Malacca study group is just starting, as the group of participants are quite small. Although I’m a Malaccan, I considered myself as a foreigner in Malacca, because I only travel back to Malacca some weekends. Most of the people that I know, including some of my relatives, have left Malacca to work in other states or in Singapore.

Malacca is very special to His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche as this is the first place where he began his life in Malaysia, teaching the Dharma and setting up his first Dharma center. If my memory works correctly, I had actually attended his Dharma classes back in those days and I enjoyed it very, very much. I laughed very loudly at the jokes he made either during Dharma class or during casual conversations with a group of people. I was only a kid back then, still in primary school. After Rinpoche moved to KL, I did not see him for some time.

Rinpoche is full of charisma – he is always fun to hang out with and he has not changed a bit. From what I see in the YouTube videos, he is still the same person I knew back when I was a kid. From what I heard back then, I know Rinpoche can be quite wrathful but it doesn’t bother me at all. Perhaps that is because I didn’t have the privilege to be screamed at by him yet.

Hence, I really do appreciate that Kechara House has set up a centre in Malacca and I would do everything within my ability to make the center grow.
