Laughter is the Best Medicine!

Indian physician Dr. Kataria and his wife Madhuri developed Laughter Yoga, which combines an ancient form of yoga with laughing exercises, interspersed with deep breathing sessions.

It is believed that laughter yoga provides psychological benefits and is often done in groups with jokes. Forcing yourself to laugh can turn into real laughter and soon becomes contagious.

Karen, a laughter yoga teacher, facilitated an hour-long laughter yoga session for a group of people in Kechara Forest Retreat. According to Karen,

Some of the benefits include exercising the heart muscles, diaphragm and of course, improving our mood. 15 minutes of laughter is equivalent to 45 minutes of cardiovascular exercise.
