  AMBANK ECHANNEL CONTACT CENTRE PARTICIPATES IN KECHARA SOUP KITCHEN (KSK) FOOD DISTRIBUTION OUTING

Kuala Lumpur, 8 Dec - As Part Of The AmBank Group EChannel Contact Centre CSR Initiative, The Team Organised A Food Distribution Outing With Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) In Kuala Lumpur On 4 December. This Follows After The Group Sponsored The Renovation, Furniture And Fixtures Cost Of The Premise With A Total Amount Of RM350,000 In September.

Under its AmBank Cares Programme, AmBank Group is active in its CSR projects as it continues to consistently pursue a proactive role with an all encompassing view to assist the community in need of assistance. A community project like this helps to meet our objective as a socially responsible corporate citizen,” Tuan Syed Anuar Syed Ali, Head, Group Public Affairs, AmBank Group.

The KSK aims to reduce the flow of homeless community, living on the streets by providing a nurture centre building as a place of training and assistance to help make the homeless employable and for them to re-enter society. The aim of the organisation is to contribute towards improving the society of Malaysia within the scope of feeding the homeless and urban poor as well as to help those who wish to re-enter society.

At this two-storey Soup Kitchen building, KSK will provide hot food and soup daily, medical aid, laundry facilities, counseling and job placement whilst continuing to provide street food delivery to their registered recipients. On average, 800 packs of halal vegetarian food consisting of biscuits, snacks, drinking water, fruits and hot food are distributed to the homeless each week.

“We are delighted to participate in this food distribution outing. As such, we are consistently engaged in community projects as we believe that business and society are interdependent. Project such as this gives AmBank staff the opportunity to engage in their local communities to build closer relationships with the society in which they live and work,” said Mr Michael Goh, Head, eChannel, AmBank (M) Berhad.

The teams of volunteers who participated in KSK’s weekend food distribution cover areas such as Bukit Bintang, Petaling Street, Pudu Raya, Pudu Market, Chow Kit, Masjid Jamek, Brickfields, Old Klang Road and Petaling Jaya.
