What’s your year-end plan this 2016? Do something different this year and join us on a pilgrimage to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha Shakyamuni, and Kathmandu.

Power places are imbued with the blessed energies of many Enlightened Beings who have resided, practised and benefited countless other beings in that particular location. According to H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche:

When we go to these places, show reverence, make offerings and aspirational prayers, we create the direct causes to attain this same state of compassion and to gain the same enlightened qualities that these beings had.

For the first time ever, we are organising a pilgrimage to one of the most important pilgrimage sites for Buddhists – Lumbini – where Buddha was born. It is said that Buddha himself identified four places of future pilgrimage: the sites of his birth, Enlightenment, first discourse and death. Rinpoche teaches that when we visit the Buddha’s birth place, we create the karma to have control of our own rebirth and create the causes to be born in pleasant places where we will have the right conditions and opportunities to practise Dharma.

In Kathmandu, you will also get the opportunity to soak in the holy energies of this ancient and colourful city, home to hundreds of sacred Buddhist sites such as the famous Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambunath Stupa and Patan, just to name a few.
