The growth of Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) has been nothing short of miraculous, expanding rapidly throughout the years from Kuala Lumpur to Penang and even Indonesia!
Starting with just fifteen packets per night, Kwong Wah Jit Poh below notes that KSK Penang now regularly distributes 200 packets of food every month. With the upcoming opening of their own soup kitchen builidng, the team will be able to reach out to even more of the homeless community.
To support this growth, KSK Penang is organising a fundraising dinner on 17 April 2011 at E&O Hotel to raise funds towards the operating cost and renovation of the building.
For further information on how you can join us in the fight against homelessness, contact our Project Director Chua Siong Woan ([email protected]; +6010 333 3260). With the expansion of our services, KSK’s financial resources are being stretched tight…we need all the help we can get, whether it’s with job offers, our wish list, or with donations of money, food or your time! Employment opportunities are also welcome, as most of our clients are willing and able to work…they just need YOU to give them a chance.
