What does compassion look like? Well, it has many faces but at Kechara Soup Kitchen, compassion takes the form of warm food, time spent with those who are ignored, and realistic hope and help for a better life.
There is no one better than our President Ruby Khong to lead us in this quest to bring compassion to the streets. To all intents and purposes, this glamorous lady looks hardly the type to pound the pavements every weekend in aid of the homeless…but that’s exactly what she does! Click on the images below to read Cittabella’s take on this remarkable woman whose work appeals to the human in us. Please note that as the images are quite large (to ensure that the text remains legible), they may take a little longer than usual to load.
It’s really not that difficult to give back to society…follow Ruby’s lead, and let Kechara Soup Kitchen show you how! For further information on how you can join us in the fight against homelessness, contact our Project Director Chua Siong Woan at siongwoan.chua@kechara.com or +6010 333 3260. With our new building and our ongoing regular activities, KSK’s financial resources are being stretched tight…we need all the help we can get, whether it’s with job offers, our wish list, or with donations of money, food or your time! Employment opportunities are also welcome, as most of our clients are willing and able to work…they just need YOU to give them a chance.
