On a hot and humid Monday afternoon, when most people were either at work or in shopping malls enjoying the cool air, a group of distinguished guests and volunteers gathered at Kechara Soup Kitchen’s (KSK) building at Jalan Barat, Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the official opening of the building. It was a grand occasion graced by the First Lady of Malaysia and the wife of our country’s Prime Minister, YAB Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor.
What is more surprising than a soup kitchen right in the middle of the city, is the amount of people living on the streets of the city. Thus it is definitely a privilege to note that KSK has the support of the Malaysian government. This support encourages the KSK team to work even harder for the benefit of everyone on the streets, in line with our motto Hunger Knows No Barriers.

With the expansion of our services, KSK’s financial resources are being stretched tight…we need all the help we can get, whether it’s with job offers, our wish list, or with donations of money, food or your time! Employment opportunities are also welcome, as most of our clients are willing and able to work…they just need YOU to give them a chance.
