Serving Kuantan’s homeless

At 11:30 on a Saturday night, most people will be relaxing and enjoying their weekend after a long working week. Some might spend their time partying; others may be sat on the couch in front of the TV, with a remote control in their hand. However, the Kechara Kuantan Study Group decided this would not be the case for them this weekend; this weekend, they would take to the streets, to try and fill the stomachs of the homeless.

Armed with bottles of water and biscuits, the group met up to drive into Kuantan town in search for the homeless. Members from the group included Aw Wei Ling, Wong Suet Moi, Yeoh and Leonard Chia who all joined in on the action. Although they were only able to serve two clients, their efforts were much appreciated by their recipients.

It takes only a few dollars from your pocket, and a few hours of your time to warm a less fortunate person’s stomach and heart…

The team expressed their satisfaction with being able to serve others, instead of always serving themselves. The Study Group hope to be able to serve  more homeless clients and the poor families in Kuantan, to make the town an even more beautiful place to live in.

Kechara in Kuala Lumpur admires the group’s effort and hopes that in the future, they can serve and assist many others in the area. Kechara would also like to thank Ms Chua for sponsoring the food; it is very nice to see a start to helping more people because without a start, there will never be an end result.

If you would like to get involved in the fun, or wish to provide sponsorship, please contact Leonard Chia at +6012 989 2823.
