KSK Hits the Mall!

The city’s most talked about soup kitchen, Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK), was at 1Utama Shopping Centre’s Community Corner last weekend to raise awareness of our work to aid the homeless.

Many new friends came to visit our booth, to learn more about what KSK is doing to feed the homeless and give them new opportunities in life.

Thousands of leaflets were distributed to the public to create awareness while many second-hand designer bags, shoes and clothes were sold to raise funds. Parents who walked past our booth were able to show their children about homelessness, and teach them to be appreciative of what they have.

We wish to thank 1Utama Shopping Centre for being so kind to provide us with a platform to seek awareness and funds to support our work to aid the homeless. We would also like to extend our appreciation to His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche, who blogged about our event to raise awareness.

Finally, a big THANK YOU to all of the hardworking volunteers who came to help and worked tirelessly during this two-day event which was a resounding success!

For further information on how you can join us in the fight against homelessness, contact our Project Director Chua Siong Woan at siongwoan.chua@kechara.com or +6010 333 3260. With our new building and our ongoing regular activities, KSK’s financial resources are being stretched tight…we need all the help we can get, whether it’s with job offers, our wish list, or with donations of money, food or your time! Employment opportunities are also welcome, as most of our clients are willing and able to work…they just need YOU to give them a chance.
