Good news! Kechara’s Soup Kitchen (KSK) has won another award, acknowledging our efforts towards improving the welfare of Malaysia’s homeless and urban poor.

About a month ago, we received an email notifying us that we had been nominated for the Europa Sustainability Award 2012. This accolade is awarded by the European Union-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

On 26 September 2012, the Soup Kitchen Committee was present at the ceremony to collect our award for the Welfare category, one of five categories (the other four being Culture, Environment, Women Empowerment and Education). Winners received a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) training course package conducted by Malaysia Institute of Management.
