Off the Streets: Drug Free and Reunited with Family

This is Zali. He was one of our clients for many years. He dropped in today, wanting to personally thank us for helping him during his most difficult times. As part of Kechara Soup Kitchen’s initiatives, we sent him to Agensi Anti Dadah Kebangsaan (AADK) to begin his voluntary drug rehabilitation programme. He successfully completed this programme just in time to be reunited with his family members during Hari Raya.

Now free of drugs, Zali is very happy. He told us of his feelings of being able to accomplish something significant during his rehabilitation i.e. being elected as one of the leaders of his group programme.

In addition, his relationship with his family, especially his parents, has improved as he is living with them now. We are incredibly happy for Zali as this is what we really like to see: clients being off the streets and getting back on their feet.
