Chenrezig, also known as Avalokiteshvara or Kuan Yin, represents the compassion of all Buddhas. Having accomplished all ten levels of a Bodhisattva, he has attained the six paramitas of generosity, morality, patience, joyful effort, meditation and wisdom and eternally strives to free us from our unhappiness and suffering.

With prayers, offerings and meditation on his qualities, we can be inspired to practice real inner transformation of our negative qualities into selfless motivation to serve others.

In 1000-armed form, he is known as Avalokita.
