Shanghai Night Dharma Talk – Why are we here?

29 July 2009 - 8:56pm Comments Off

On 2nd July 2009, Tsem Ladrang hosted a dinner at Kechara Oasis New Age Vegetarian Restaurant (KO) to welcome Datin Ng as Honorary Liaison. Organized by our very own Kechara Events, KO was completely transformed to the theme of Shanghai Nite.

In appreciation of Datin Ng’s continual support and contribution, His Eminence conferred the title Jindak upon Datin Jindak is a Tibetan word that means a stable sponsor who uses his/her wealth for Dharma to grow. Jindak is one who knows, trusts and believes in the Dharma and has deep affinity, faith and devotion in the Lama. A Jindak contributes to the Lama so that the Lama is free of financial encumbrances to carry out his Dharma work and activities to benefit many sentient beings. This is the first time His Eminence has conferred this title.

H.E. Tsem Rinpoche gave a wonderful dharma talk during the dinner on that night.

  1. Is Naga vases the same meaning with Wealth vase?

    • The naga vase is a type of wealth vase. There are a number of types of wealth vases, some contain the energy of enlightened wealth deities, others do not. It is best to be careful with Naga Vases because if they are not cared for properly, the owners may experience negative side effects. In Kechara, we only offer the Wealth Vases of Enlightened Beings to be invited home.

More information can be found in Rinpoche’s teaching on Naga Vases (

  2. If this was the only teaching Buddhists, Christians, Jews, Muslims and athiests alike received the world would be a better place.

  3. I was talking about “Don’t Embarrass the Buddha”.
