Liaison of Kechara House

Due to some differences in views, in January 2006 I left the Dharma centre which my husband Ngeow and I founded four years ago. At the beginning we thought we could continue our spiritual practice on our own together with a few like-minded Dharma friends. However after some time, we lost focus in our practice and were in danger of slipping back to the worldly ‘temptations’.

We decided to look for a Dharma centre from the same lineage and found Kechara. I can still remember the first audience I had with Rinpoche at a private teaching on a stormy night. We were late for the teachings as we were stuck in a traffic jam. Feeling very anxious in the car, we received a call from Rinpoche’s assistant telling us not to hurry because Rinpoche understood our situation and asked us to drive safely. I was very touched by Rinpoche’s understanding and care for somebody he had not even met!

The rest, as they say, is history.

It was my great honour to be offered a position as one of Rinpoche’s Liaisons in 2007. I want to improve, to move out of my comfort zone and I know that by committing to Liaisonship I will be able to realise my wish.

My challenge is to bring Kechara House to the level where the centre/temple is like an emergency ward ready to serve anyone to the best of our abilities.
