Mass Prayers for MH370 at Wisma MCA

More than 3,000 people gathered to pray for those onboard Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 at a mass prayer session organised by the Malaysian Chinese Association (MCA) at Wisma MCA. The Federation of Chinese Associations Malaysia, the Chinese ambassador to Malaysia Huang Hui Kang and relatives of Malaysian and Chinese passengers aboard the missing jetliner also attended the mass prayer session.

The mass prayer session was led by Buddhist organisations which included Fo Guang Shan Malaysia, Kechara Buddhist Organisation Malaysia, Dharma Drum Malaysia, Malaysian Buddhist Association, Young Buddhist Association of Malaysia, Vajrayana Buddhist Council of Malaysia and Malaysian Buddhist Consultative Council, amongst others.

MCA president YB Dato’ Sri Liow Tiong Lai, his deputy YB Datuk Ir Dr. Wee Ka Siong and other party leaders, as well as nearly 300 Buddhist devotees attended the one-and-a-half hour prayers.

Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers including 152 Chinese citizens and 12 crew members, went missing en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, about an hour after taking off from the KL International Airport at 12.41am on March 8. It was scheduled to land in Beijing at 6.30am, on the same day.
