KSDS Art Exhibition

It is common knowledge that the future will be upheld by younger generations. However, the world is filled with misdirection and the degeneration of moral principles, ethics and responsibility. With teens losing respect for parents and placing less importance on education, Dharma is very much needed within our society. In Kechara, we firmly believe that everybody deserves a second chance.

One of the key elements to encourage today’s youth to make better choices is having an outlet to express themselves. One such outlet is Art, which includes music, dance, or even fine arts. Unfortunately, not all children have the opportunity or the right conditions to express themselves in this manner. Well, Kechara Sunday Dharma School assists with just that!

Kechara Sunday Dharma School (KSDS) is a Buddhist education programme for children ranging from ages 2 to 16. The programme allows children to express themselves both physically and mentally, thus encouraging confidence, clarity and self-expression. KSDS hosts extra-curricular activities every Sunday including Arts and Crafts, which focuses on showcasing core Buddhist values through the medium of art!

On this note, KSDS is hosting an Art Exhibition to highlight original and unique art works created by children aged 2 to 10! Each exhibit embodies an aspect of Buddhist practice taught during class, its importance to our youth and features a wide range of expressive materials that will inspire fun and excitement!

As Vida Dutton Scudder once said,

Creation is a better means of self-expression than possession; it is through creating, not possessing, that life is revealed.
