2016 Wesak Day Children’s Baptism Registration

29 April 2016 - 5:21pm Comments Off

This coming Wesak Day (21 May 2016, Saturday), Kechara House will be organising a children’s baptism ceremony. We are inviting all parents who are interested to baptise their children to register with Kechara House starting today.

First performed in 2011 by H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche, this Buddhist baptismal ceremony bestows the powerful blessings of Lama Tsongkhapa and Lord Manjushri, who are one in nature. Children who have undergone the baptism are deemed to be under the powerful protection of the Three Jewels – Buddha, Dharma and Sangha – until they come of age. Thereafter, they can opt to take refuge. The blessing demands nothing from the child but parents are encouraged to teach their children the mantra of Lord Manjushri to ensure that they continue to receive blessings from the Buddha of Wisdom.

It is a great opportunity for children to receive children’s baptismal on Wesak Day, as it is an auspicious day to engage in such meritorious acts, to receive the blessings of the Three Jewels and to be protected always by Lord Manjushri. What is more precious than the gift of Dharma for our beloved children?

  • The ceremony is open to all children from newborn to 17 years of age
  • Children Baptismal package for both Members and Non-Members:
    • For Members: RM50 per child
    • For Non-Members: RM80 per child
  • At the end of the ceremony, your child will have received the protection of the Three Jewels and will be considered Buddhists
  • When your children are older, they should still take refuge as it signifies the start of their personal spiritual practice
  • The registration deadline is 18 May 2016
