The traditional symbol of sound offering is the conch shell, which signifies the sound of the Dharma.

If you can’t find a nice conch shell, it is also fine to use any musical instrument, like a toy guitar, harmonica, bells or any other that can fit on your altar of course.

By offering music we create the causes to hear only pleasant sounds in the future, especially the sound of the Dharma and never to hear unpleasant sounds such as bad news.  It is also a cause of attaining the speech of a Buddha.
