Lamrim Retreat

The Lamrim is a universal truth. It teaches universal qualities that are inherently good which are needed in society such as wisdom, effort, equanimity, compassion, respect, gratitude, forgiveness. It has its own blessings. (It is) the truth of all truths. ~ H.E. Tsem Rinpoche

Discover the Diamond in Me

There is a diamond within each and every one of us. And yes!  You can discover the diamond within you with the Lamrim together with the right motivation and actions. The diamond here refers to the realised mind of the Buddha, that perfect stage of meditation that is pure, clear and indestructible. It is the wisdom in which method (great bliss) and wisdom (emptiness) are inseparable.

What is the Lamrim?

Lamrim is a Tibetan word which translates into the stages of the path to enlightenment. It is the Holy Text which contains all the instructions and teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni – the perfect approach to Dharma. The Lamrim contains basic, intermediate and advance teachings which can be practiced by people of all levels of spiritual development.

Should we be able to complete the fundamental Lamrim practice and engage in the extraordinary teachings of the Highest Tantra, even full enlightenment in one lifetime becomes possible

The Lamrim Retreat

The Lamrim Retreat 2012 is (a series of recitations) planned on a fixed schedule to allow everyone – enthusiasts and practitioners, members and non-members alike to come together and read the Lamrim collectively. Organised once a month for a stretch of one week, the recitation is intensive and rewarding. Participants who recite will learn and benefit from this very meritorious retreat in the following ways:

  • Purify our negative karma
  • Collect merits for ourselves and our loved ones
  • Our minds will become clearer
  • We will become more mindful and alert
  • Our speech will become beautiful and eloquent
  • Gain the ability to influence others through our speech
  • Gain wisdom

Concurrently we collect the same amount of virtue as by studying the Buddha’s 84,000 teachings.

“My biggest obstacle with my spiritual journey is in maintaining it with consistency and discipline. I am often distracted by my worldy responsibilities. However, when I took part in the Lamrim Retreat, I realized that the retreat has “forced” me to be more disciplined in my practice. Coming together in large groups to read the Lamrim presents a different setting and feel – the energy and sincerity of other’s practice gives me a lot of motivation” ~ Confessions of a Lamrim retreatee

Our AIM – 8,000 Recitations of the whole Lamrim text…Every chapter you read brings us closer to our aim!

One Response to Lamrim Retreat

  1. There seems to be an error for the schedule in July from 14th to 15th (Sat & Sun only?). Or, is this a special non-stop event for 48 hours over 2 continuous days?
