All these and other Tathagata Arhat Samyaksam Buddha Bhagavan, all living Buddha Bhagavan dwelling throughout all worlds of the ten directions, please listen to me! In this life and all beginningless lives, in all places of rebirth in samsara, I have committed, instigated, and rejoiced in harmful deeds; have seized property from Stupas, Sangha, and all Sangha of the ten directions, have instigated and rejoiced in such seizure; have committed, instigated, and rejoiced in the five boundless negative deeds; have fully engaged in the path of the ten non-virtues, have instigated and rejoiced in others engaging in them; whatever karmic obstructions cause myself and others to go to hells, to go through birth as animals, to go to the realm of the pretas, to be born as human beings in remote lands devoid of the teachings, to be born as barbarians, to be born as long-lived devas, to be born as human beings with incomplete faculties, as human beings who hold mistaken views, as human beings who do not delight the Buddhas: In the presence of the Buddha Bhagavan who are transcendent wisdom, who are ’eyes’, who are witnesses, who are ideal standards, who see with their knowledge, I declare all these karmic obscurations! I confess them! I do not conceal them! I do not hide them! Henceforth I shall also desist and refrain from such actions!

All you Buddha Bhagavan please listen to me! In this, and all beginningless lifetimes, whatever roots of virtue I have created through generosity to others, even down to giving a morsel of food to an animal, whatever roots of virtue I have created by living with noble ethics, whatever roots of virtue I have created through Brahmacharya-pure conduct, whatever roots of virtue I have created by causing sentient beings to become fully ripened, whatever roots of virtue I have created by generating the aspiration to supreme Enlightenment, and whatever roots of virtue I have created through transcendent wisdom, collecting these all into one and adding them all together, I dedicate them to that which is unsurpassed, to that of which nothing is higher, the highest of the high, I dedicate them to that which surpasses even the unexcelled, I dedicate them to unsurpassable perfectly complete enlightenment! Just as past Buddhas have fully dedicated, just as future Buddhas will fully dedicate, and just as presently living Buddhas are fully dedicating, so too do I dedicate fully.

I confess each of my own harmful deeds. I rejoice in the merit of all beings. I make urgent request to all the Buddhas: may I attain holy supreme unexcelled transcendent wisdom! To those supreme beings, Conquerors who are living now, those of the past, and likewise those of the future, who are like an infinite ocean of exalted qualities, with palms folded together, I go for refuge completely.

This concludes the Mahayana Sutra called “The Aryas’ Three Collections”.
