2016 Wesak Day at Kechara House

Kechara will be celebrating Wesak Day on Saturday 21 May 2016 in Kechara House, and you are cordially invited to join us for this auspicious celebration.

Wesak Day is the threefold day of celebration commemorating the Buddha’s birth, Enlightenment and passing into Parinirvana. The full moon day of the Visakha month was chosen by the Buddha to manifest these attainments in order to bless all who believe in him with inspiration on the path towards Enlightenment.

On this auspicious day, remembering the kindness of the Buddha, Kechara House has lined up many exciting activities for the accumulation of merits in dedication to our friends and family. Join us in prayer and offerings for the people we love.

This year’s celebrations begin in the morning with animal liberation, and then a children’s baptismal, followed by a Lama Chopa Puja, which invokes the blessings of all the lineage masters stemming from Buddha Shakyamuni, through the great Lama Tsongkhapa until our own guru, His Eminence the 25th Tsem Rinpoche. This prayer clears obstacles on our spiritual path and blesses us to be successful in our endeavours.
