In memory of our friend Eric Kwan

Mr. Eric Kwan was an experienced videographer. He had directed quite a few advertisements for prominent brands.

How did Eric connect with Kechara? It all began with his son, Wan Hong, who had been volunteering in Kechara Soup Kitchen (KSK) since 2011. As Wan Hong became more involved in Kechara’s activities, his family (his father, mother and younger sister) soon followed suit.

Eric’s expertise in videography soon led him to volunteer much of his time in Kechara InMotion‘s works, where he also helped repair many pieces of photography equipment. In 2012, Eric joined the production team of The Paranormal Zone Season 1, where his rich experience in videography and lighting has been of great help. He was also well-known for his improvisation and DIY techniques with some of the photographic equipment!

On 5 June 2015, Eric left us without warning and we were all saddened by his sudden passing. However we are glad to have had the opportunity to work with Eric during the production of The Paranormal Zone Season I, II and III; as well as the Dorje Shugden teaching videos. The production team has travelled together from Thailand to Indonesia and Singapore, and we have endured and experienced so much together. Even the day Eric said goodbye to us was the day he was busy with The Paranormal Zone III launch ceremony.

Head Pastor Kok Yek Yee led the Puja Team in the funerary arrangements and bereavement prayers, and in support of Eric’s family in their time of need. Kechara’s Spiritual Advisor H.E. Tsem Rinpoche also paid a surprise visit to Eric’s wake to give support, blessings and a dharma teaching to Eric’s family.

We wish all the best to the Kwan family, and we pray for Eric to have a good rebirth and to always be connected to dharma in his future lives.

Since Eric’s passing, The Paranormal Zone Season III has been aired on the Syfy Channel recently and the Dorje Shugden teaching videos have been released. We rejoice for Eric’s contribution towards the spread of the teachings of Lord Buddha in general, and H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and Dorje Shugden in particular.
