Ingredients
- 20 oyster mushrooms, rinsed
- cornflour, for coating
- oil, for deep frying
- 6 tablespoons vegetarian mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar or to taste
- salt to taste
- deep fried basil leaves
- sesame seeds, toasted
Directions
Dip the mushrooms in the cornflour to coat them thoroughly. Heat the oil in a wok and deep fry the mushrooms until crisp. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
Combine the mayonnaise, butter, sugar and salt in a clean wok and cook until thickened to the desired consistency.
Add the mushrooms, fried basil leaves and sesame seeds. Toss to coat them well in the sauce.
