Vegetarianism in Oriental Daily

Did you know being vegetarian for one day helps to save 1000 billion gallons of water? It also helps to save 15 billion pounds of animal feed (enough to feed New Mexico for one year!)…

…and helps to prevent 1.2 million tonnes of carbon dioxide being released?

Did you know that being vegetarian for just one day helps to prevent 3 million tonnes of land being lost to erosion?

Or that 33 tonnes of antibiotics are saved because animals don’t have to be vaccinated and medicated?

In conjunction with International Meatless Day, Oriental Daily ran a story about being vegetarian, about the mistakes surrounding the diet, the different types of vegetarianism AND they featured three of our Kechara members!

At different stages of vegetarianism, Dino Goh (vegetarian for three months), Jamie Khoo (vegetarian for three years) and Irene Lim (vegetarian for 10 years) spoke about their experiences of being vegetarian. Irene also spoke about opening Kechara Oasis, and how it has taught her that there is no reason for us to keep eating meat.
