How our Kechara statues came to be

Originally posted on His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche’s blog, here we track the progress of the installation of Kechara House’s new gompa statues…from the arrival, to the preparation to the filling and sealing of the statues! The statues, including a 12-foot Lama Tsongkhapa, were produced by Kechara Discovery and prepared by Kechara Saraswati Arts.

Click on the images below for the full version…but be warned! They may take a little longer than usual to load because the files are quite large (to ensure you get the best images possible).

Inside the statues

From 7 November to 12 November 2010, the new statues were filled with holy relics, holy texts, statues, holy images, rolled mantras, pot pourri, pendants, khatas and many other things.

So much work was put into the beautiful statues in our new Kechara Prayer Hall. The statues are set up with so much love and care. Kechara Discovery and Kechara Saraswati Arts Depts were primarily responsible for the statues and their completion…and they did a great job with so much effort from the volunteers.I am proud of all our people who put so much love, care and precision work into these holy statues.

  1. Will love to know where the three beautiful Statues were originally made as the Write-up talked of having them transported to Kuala Lumpur. Were they made in India or China or Thailand ? I only read of the finishing touches being done by Kechara members but am also interested to know who and where were these 3 Statues orignated or produced !! It is only decent to give credir and acknowledgment to the original Maker or Makers of these 3 beautiful Bronze Statues. I know for a fact that Malaysia and Kechara do not have the capacity to produce such great statues .

  2. [...] [...]
