Sponsoring Animals For The Monastery

One of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche’s students has recently sponsored a cow for Gaden Shartse monastery. The monastery, like all monasteries, maintains a small herd of cows and buffaloes to provide milk for the monks food and tea.

Gaden Shartse’s current herd of 14 buffaloes is sponsored by H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Saving cows or buffaloes from the slaughterhouse and donating them to the monastery is incredibly beneficial in many ways. Not only does it create the causes for our long-life and that of our loved ones, the animal also provides sustenance for the monks and reduces their need to purchase milk from other sources.

Saving lives is frequently recommended for the elderly or those who are suffering from ill-health. Recently, Tsem Ladrang released more than 100kg of live catfish dedicated towards the long-life of H.E. Tsem Rinpoche. Read all about it here.
