Kechara was recently alerted by our friends at AnimalCare about the incredible dangers and rising numbers of dognapping. Do read the full account here about what is happening to stray AND domestic animals around the city:

We are not sharing this information with any malicious intent towards the authorities, but as this is a true, and first-hand account of events, we hope that this lady’s experience will help to educate pet owners to be more careful with letting their dogs out of the house.

It also alerts us of the frightening reality of how animals are being treated here and the urgent need to 1) provide better animal welfare and care and 2) work hard to improve the rights of animals, beings who have absolutely no voice.

It is H.E. Tsem Rinpoche and Kechara’s sincere wish that with the establishment of our future animal sanctuary, we will be able to provide much better conditions for animals to live in, free of pain and fear.
